NINA CASPARI
Film Director & Photographer

About Nina
Part of Directors UK Inspire 2025-26

Nina is an award-winning film director working at the intersection of emotional surrealism, where beauty and darkness collide. With a background in photography and experimental film, her work is defined by a magical-realistic aesthetic and a focus on empowering women’s stories, creating visually distinctive, atmospheric films with a strong sense of composition, mood, and emotional depth.

Her films have screened internationally at BAFTA-qualifying and Oscar-qualifying festivals including Aesthetica Short Film Festival and Interfilm Berlin, as well as Kino der Kunst (jury chaired by Cindy Sherman), VAEFF New York, and FFO Oostende, where her work 'The Silk Silence of the Wild Cotton Candy' was screened as the introduction to Paolo Sorrentino’s La Grande Bellezza.

She is the recipient of multiple awards including Best Experimental Short Film for Bella Di Notte at Post Cinema Film Festival and Best Music Video for Crystallica at the Florence Film Awards, and is currently developing her debut feature film under the mentorship of Louise Hooper (Directors UK Inspire).

Alongside directing, Nina has developed a cross-disciplinary filmmaking practice across editing, costume design, and art direction. From shaping narrative rhythm in the edit suite to designing character-driven costumes, which led to nominations at the Belgian Film Awards (Les Magritte du Cinéma and the Ensors), and building immersive visual worlds from the ground up, this practice has deeply informed her directorial approach and strengthened a distinctive visual language, storytelling instinct, and ability to lead projects from concept to final cut with clarity and cohesion.

"Nina’s natural connection and understanding of music is one of the many reasons I love collaborating with her." - NATALYA, singer-songwriter
"Nina is an admirable talent. She is able to visualize what she has in her mind using special and innovative methods. Reality is somewhere. Fantasy will take her anywhere." - Johan Visser, Founder of Idiot Records & Graphic Illustrator
"Nina's directing sensibilities are unique and powerful. I'm a big fan of her ethereal aesthetics and art direction and hauntingly beautiful cinematography. Strong female characters are at the centre of much of her work and she has a strong understanding of commercial content whilst not losing sight of her artistic vision.
She's also, importantly, a really lovely person and a pleasure to work with."
- Kim French, Head of Marketing at Preen, Founder of Edit Girls
